SPRINGFIELD BUSINESS JOURNAL · 3 DEC. 10-16, 2018 Aside from home, the office is likely the place where we spend most of our time. The pages that follow profile seven of the Springfield Business Journal editorial team’s favorite workspaces we’ve visited. As you delve into this issue, you might get a little envious of the people who get to spend so much of their days in these offices. The spaces are simply stunning. These designs master a balancing act of functionality and beauty. It’s truly a piece of art by the architects and designers. The profiles feature the newly minted Zimmerman/ Wilhoit Properties headquarters in south Springfield, the retrofitted digs of Vecino Group up on Commercial Street and a unique profile that took us to Bear country, Missouri State University. I toured Obelisk Home, and if you’ve never been inside, I’d go now. Take a peek up the stairwell and you’ll find yourself transported from downtown Springfield to a metropolitan hub. Then there is the surprise underground — Pitt Technology Group’s “corner offices” set up in shipping containers that once housed hoards of macaroni and cheese. We hope you love this photo tour as much as we enjoyed putting it together. A special thanks to all the businesses that invited us inside.
